Abstract The Joy Luck Club, written by the Chinese American novelist Amy Tan, caused a great sensation both in the American and world literary fields immediately after its publication. This novel, with its unique narrative techniques, explores generational and cross-cultural conflicts within Chinese immigrant families, and gives a truthful account of females’ psychological journey in the process of finding one’s sense of self and pl
