I like to prepare for something way beforehand instead of putting thing off till the last minute because you can have more time carrying out careful and extensive research. For example, I usually have to devote weeks to gathering research for a term paper, reviewing many contradictory opinions before I can perform my own analysis and offer my own perspective on the subject. Another reason is that early preparation in the beginning can help me see ahead of lime the weaknesses make provisions to remedy those weaknesses.
