Emily was the daughter of a vicar in Yorkshire, where she lived with her brother and her sisters , who also wrote books .
Emily was quiet , but fiery . When she wanted to stop the family bulldog on the beds , she fiercely beat his head with her fists . Even so ,the dog did not stop loving her ,and when Emily died , it slept in her empty room , moaning .
Whuthering Heights was published a year before Emily died . It was a succss , although the cruelty of the characters upset many readers . It is still a very popular book and has been adapted for television , radio and film many times .;About this book;
as children , Catherine Earnshaw and Heathcliff are inseparable , but she later rejects the dangerous Heathcliff to marry respectable Edgar Linton . When Linton puts an end to their friendship, Catherine becomes ill and then dies in childbirth .
Heathcliff seeks revenge by wooing Edgar’s sister , Isabella and cheating the Earnshaws out of their family home , Wuthering Heights ; he also takes the Linton home , Thrushcross Grange .
The story ends when the ghost of Catherine comes for Heathcliff and he dies , laving the two houses to their rightful owners .; Merci
