Developed and developing countries Group 2 袁湘钧 In the division of developed and developing countries in economics, GDP and GNI are the two most commonly used indicators. GDP is the GNP, which refers to the gross national product. GNI refers to gross national income. According to its level of economic development and the state of the rich and the poor, all countries in the world are usually divided into developed and developing countries.The developed countries,generally including the major Western capitalist countries, mainly refers to the 24 member states of the Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) established in 1960, which are mainly distributed in Europe, North America, Oceania. In Asia, only Japan is the developed countries. Most of them are located in the northern hemisphere, therefore, referred to as the North. Developing countries, also known as the least developed countries or less developed countries are political independent, economically poorer countries, which are most located in the southern hemisphere and the northern hemisphere the south, referred to as the South. This kind of North-South division is not geographical meaning,but refers to a different level of socio-economic development,so it is divided roughly. In the north, China and North Korea are developing countries. In the South, Australia and New Zealand are developed countries. For these reasons, the relationship between the two types of countries , is also known as the 揘orth-South relations?. Existence of funds, technology, raw materials and markets,criss-cross the complex relationship between the two. North-South relation in the narrow sense refers only to economic relations.
