Teaching Plan
I.Teaching aims:
This part is focus on saving panda. Students should get information from the reading material about pandas and understand the main idea of each paragraph of the article.
II.Knowledge point:
Vocabulary and Phrases:
research, southwest, mainly, live on, reason, less and less, situation, symbol, turtle, cause, feed(fed, fed), bamboo, die. natural, research, seriousm, symbol, enough food , the symbol for/of, such as…, nature reserves, in danger
Grammar:
①look after…well= take good care of…
②live on…(food) live by…(doing)
③Less and less + uncountable noun (不可数名词)
④fewer and fewer + countable noun(可数名词)
⑤more and more + countable/uncountable noun (可数名词 / 不可数名词)
⑥have no land to live on/ have nothing to worry about
⑦enough+n/ adj + enough/ adv + enough
⑧Such as=like/ for example
Pronunciation and speaking:
Sometimes you can learn new words through translation, remember to write down the words on your notebook,and practice saying these words .
III. Teaching method:
Top-down approach , listening to the tape and do some exercises/activities and task-based. At the same time, using Interactive approach and Communicate approach.
IV.Teaching process:
1.Lead-in Warming up:
Hello, class. What is this? Yes, it is. It is the panda. By the way what is the panda saying? He says that “You come to China. But you can’t find me. What a pity?”He is right to say that. Pandas are in danger. To know more about the panda let’s go to page 74.
2.Reading and vocabulary:
Reading the paragragh(Activity5),complete the sentences with the words in the box,and read the completed sentences.
3.Listening and reading:
Now listen to the tape first, paying attention to the pronunciation, stress, and the intonation of the native speakers. For the second listening, try to read aloud the passage to the recording while listening. Now let’s go over the passage for the third time. This time we shall read the passage. While
