科技文献编译河南理工大学;第三讲 编 译 的 方 法 翻译的方法历来存在着激烈的争论。 从直译和意译谈起。 有人主张“直译”，直译就是“偏重于照顾原文字的翻译”； 有人主张“意译”，意译就是“根据原文的大意来翻译”。 有人认为无所谓直译与意译，只要能译出来就行。 要问哪种译法更好些，哪种译法更适合于科技翻译，这是很难作出回答的。 ;例: 31) Valuables left in full view can be open invitation to theft. ; 如此看来，直译或是意译都是常用的翻译方法。 在科技翻译中，应根据具体表达上的需要，采用最得体的译法，一味直译或一味意译都难失之偏颇。 ;在很多情况下，直译不但可以准确地传达原文的内容和精神 而且还可以避免因意译不当而给读者造成的错觉和误解 因此，在一般情况下，只要能反映出原文的内容，又不违背汉语的表达习惯，就应尽量采用直译法。 ;32) In the next decade, NASA’s shuttles are slated to carry some 200 satellites aloft.
