Abstract
Software system plays a more and more important role in the society, nowadays. As the development of the complexity of the software system, an efficient method of software engineering becomes the key of the efficiency of software development. Object-oriented modeling language based on UML is one of the most popular software development technologies at present. There are some advantages to use UML, especially in the embedded systems domain.
UML is an object-oriented language and be used for modeling system, and it can specify the basic characteristics of system through visualizing view. Among the whole progress of system development, requirement capture, analysis and design stages are of most important. Usually, the effect of analysis decides the performance of the systems. Use Case is a technology of requirement capture, which describes the interactive between systems and users or external environments by simple symbols and nature language. Requirement analysis and Use Case modeling is so complex that it is hard to use a standard process for every instance. So, different method should be used for different instance. The goal of the paper is to study the common characteristics of UML and propose a special modeling method based on UML.
To educe the object-oriented system analysis and design based on UML, the paper compares and summarizes some software modeling method first. Then, the content and the whole modeling process by UML is discussed, especially the method of requirement analysis and Use Case modeling. At last, combined with the characteristics and problem of embedded communication software, this method is used in the modeling of ZigBee protocol.
