In the biochemical laboratory can be said to be Wudu taste, there is a fire, explosion, poisoning, electric shock and cut the time of danger.
Therefore, every work in the biochemical laboratory personnel must have adequate safety awareness, strict preventive measures and rich practical protective medical knowledge, once the accident occurred, properly disposal, to prevent further incidents.
1 fire
Biochemical laboratory often use a large number of organic solvents, such as methanol, ethanol, acetone, chloroform, etc., and the laboratory often use fire sources, such as electric stove, so prone to fire accidents. A list of the flammability of commonly used organic solvents is as follows:
Table 1 - Flammability of common organic liquids 1
Flash point: the minimum temperature at which a mixture of steam and air on a liquid surface burns when an open flame or spark occurs;
Self ignition point: the temperature at which the liquid vapor spontaneously fires in the air.
As can be seen from the above table, the flash point of ether, carbon disulfide, acetone, and benzene is very low, so they are not stored in ordinary refrigerators which may produce electric sparks. The surface of the steam low flash point liquid only contact objects will be red hot fire, which is especially dangerous carbon disulfide.
Operating procedures for fire prevention
(1) it is strictly prohibited to heat organic solvents with open flame in open containers and closed systems. Only heating sets or water bath heating can be used.
(2) the waste organic solvent shall not be poured into the waste bin, and can only be poured into the recycle bottle. Water is diluted and discharged i
