Changsha Science and Technology Univ ersity, Changsha 71006 , China) Abstract: Slope and aspect is the most frequently used terrain parameters in Geo-science models such as hydrological models and soil erosion models of Geological Information System ( GIS) . But there are some misunderstanding on slope and aspect accuracy and algorithms based on Digital Elevation Model ( DEM) . The accuracy of slope and aspect is studied and six slope algorithms are compared, The results are confirmed on data independent DEM. The conclu- sions of this paper clarified some existing mistakes of slope and aspect accuracy and algorithms.
