What is more, with China becoming a member of the WTO, foreign business transactions tend to be more frequent. Besides, with the development of the diplomacy of China, lots of international affairs are related to China tightly, including the law affairs. So to know the laws of foreign countries and some international laws is of great importance. We all know that language is medium and it is well known that the English language has taken over the key role in international trade, marketing, tourism, legislation, and policy-making. It has achieved?“the enhanced status” as the dominant world language, which has led to an increased demand for the training of competent specialists able to mediate. So the specialists on foreign law should grasp one kind of special English language?--- legal English, which represents the pattern of law functional specialization. But we all known that?“lexicon” is the basis of every language, including English, legal English. So before we learn the legal English, the study of the legal English’s lexicon is very necessary, and the lexicon of legal English has its special characteristics.In our country and abroad, although lots of experts and scholars have studied about legal English, they pay more attention to law learning rather than legal language learning.
