Abstract: A facile synthetic process to produce silver nanoparticles with controllable shapes using Poly (vinyl
pyrrolidone) (PVP) as surfactant is introduced. The shapes of silver nanoparticles have kept successfully in tune among
quasi-spherical, right triangular and right hexagon at shapes by introducing different amounts of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)
(PVP), and changing the molar ratio between the raw materials of PVP and AgNO , and the aging temperature as well as
3
the holding time of aging temperature. The morphology of the synthesized nanoparticles (NPs) was observed with Hitachi
H−800 transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and the spectrum analysis was carried out by altra-violet visualized
absorption spectrometry, and son on.
