Unit 1 How can we become good learners?

【Teaching aims】
知识目标:
掌握以下句型:
1. A: How do you study for a test?
B: I study by working with a group.
2. What about reading aloud to practice pronunciation?
3. A: Have you ever studied with a group?
B: Yes, I have. I’ve learned a lot that way.
学习使用与“Talk about how to stduy”话题相关的单词和短语:textbook, conversation, aloud, pronunciation等.
技能目标:1、能用how引导的特殊疑问句和by短语对学习方法进行讨论。
2、 能针对所听内容搜集和处理听力任务所要求的相关信息。
情感态度:能与别人交流学习方法,形成相互交流相互促进的学习氛围。
Teaching Difficulties:1.学习使用how引导的特殊疑问句来询问做事的方式.
2.学习使用by+doing的结构表达学习方式。
【Teaching procedures】
Step 1.Warm-up and revision(课堂热身和复习)
Talk about the ways to study for a test.
T: I know most of you are good at studying. Studying hard usually means you can get good grades in tests. Let’s discuss ways you can study for a test.
Then show some pictures on PPT and help the students talk about them and learn to say “by+doing”phrases .
(教学意图:在图片的提示和帮助下,展开师生、生生之间的交流,从而激活学生自己已有的一些与本单元话题相关的生活经验与语言积累,拓展相关词汇,为下面环节的顺利学习做好知识的铺垫及心理上的准备。)
Presentation(呈现新知识)
Step 2.1a .Ask the students to coomplete 1a(Add other ways they sometimes study ),individually first,then check their answers in groups.
1b. Play the recording for the students to listen and complete 1b.
1c. The teacher asks two students to read the conversation in 1c to the class.Then ask them to do the pair work to make other conversations.
Pair work 。根据听力材料,练习下列对话:
A: How do you study for a test?
B: I study by working with a group.
(设计意图:让学生围绕中心话题进行一定的语言学习与积累,并做进一步的语言实践活动,从而对所学目标语言有了一定的理解,并在老师和同伴的帮助下学习运用目标语言进行初步交流。)
Step 3.Talk about other ways you can study. 注意新单词的学习conversation, aloud, pronunciation
T:Well done! There are so many ways to study for a test. I believe we can all get good grades if we use some of these study methods!
(设计意图说明:进一步启发学生思维,再次对下一段听力进行预测。)
Work on 2a. 听2a中的录音,标出录音中听到的问句。
