Abstract hithelastfewyears,muchhasbeenlearnedaboutthetransitionmetal-catalyzedactivationofarylic
orolefinicC-Hbonds.AnimportantextensionofthesereactionssuchasC-H/olefrn,C-H/acetylene,
C-H/COandC-H/CO/olefmcouplings,hydmacylationandsilylationcanberegardedaspracticaltools,for
thesereactionsexhibithighselectivity,highefficiencyandwideapplicability.EspeciallytheC-H/CO/olefin
couplingprotocolcanbeausefulcomplementarymethodtoFriedel-Craftsreaction,sinceittakesplaceeven
whentherereelectron-withdrawinggroupsinthearylgroupsofsubstrates.Inthesereactionsthecoordination
ofthesubstratestotherutheniumcenterinthecatalystcomplexisanecessaryprerequisiteforthereactionsto
proceed.Inthispaper,wellsurveytheRu-catalyzedfunctionalizationsofC-Hbondsthatwerepublished叩
