Ultra-wideband(UWB)technologyreferstowireless

frequencyspectrum.OneofthekeycomponentsofUWBsystemsisthe

IFFT/FFTprocessor,whichisusedforsignalmodulationand

demodulation.Thefront-enddesignofIFFT/FFTprocessorsiscrucialto

theperformanceofUWBsystems.Thepurposeofthisreportisto

investigatethedesignofthefront-endforIFFT/FFTprocessorsapplied

toUWB.

Objectives:

Themainobjectiveofthisresearchistodesignanefficientand

reliablefront-endforIFFT/FFTprocessorsthatmeetstherequirements

ofUWBcommunicationsystems.Thespecificobjectivesareasfollows:

-TostudythetheoryandprinciplesofIFFT/FFTprocessingand

theirapplicationinUWBsystems.

-Toinvestigatethedesignchallengesandrequirementsforthe

front-endofIFFT/FFTprocessorsinUWBsystems.

-Todevelopafront-enddesignforIFFT/FFTprocessorsthat

meetstherequirementsofUWBsystems.

-Toevaluatetheperformanceofthedesignedfront-endthrough

simulationandtesting.

Methodology:

Themethodologyforthisresearchwillinvolvethefollowingsteps:

-ConductathoroughreviewoftheliteratureonIFFT/FFT

processingandthedesignoffront-endsforUWBsystems.

-Analyzethedesignchallengesandrequirementsforthefront-end

ofIFFT/FFTprocessorsinUWBsystems.

-Basedontheanalysis,proposeafront-enddesignforIFFT/FFT

processors.

-ImplementthedesignusingsimulationtoolssuchasMATLABor

Simulink.

-Evaluatetheperformanceofthedesignedfront-endthrough

simulationandtesting.
