First, Id like to say something about the analysis of the teaching material. Part 1: Status and function “Focus on global warming” is the first section of Reading in this unit. It is the core of the unit. It plays a very important part in the teaching of this unit. By studying the passage, the students can improve their reading ability and learn more about the environmental pollution and environmental protection. Meanwhile, the students can receive moral education. In other words, through my teaching, they may pay more attention to environmental pollution and environmental protection, especially global warming, they will take action to protect our environment and call on others to do it like them. This lesson is in the important position of the teaching material, so it will be helpful to make the students learn the rest of this unit if the students can learn it well. Part 2: The analysis of students? situation As we know, our school is a vocational school. The students have learned English for several years. But they are weak in English learning. They can only understand some simple English words and sentences. Moreover, most of them are afraid to speak English. This unit is about environment.
