1.文献综述(结合课题情况,根据所查阅的文献资料,用英文撰写1000字以上的文献综述) 文 献 综 述 Nowadays, English has become the most widely used language in the world. English learning has gained an important position in our country. Almost every school opens English courses and English training institutions can be found easily in most cities. More and more people have been good at English. However, most of them can’t be able to speak a mouthful of fluent standard English or even they can’t understand it in a right way; in most cases they are interfered by their native language. After their English have reached a certain level, it is very hard for them to improve it further, which is so- called “plateau phenomena”. Therefore, trying our best to have a command of as many idioms as possible and knowing about some relevant cultural connotation will be significant for all of us to improve our English level further.
English idiom is a type of specific language form with fixed words or phrases which have been accumulated by the English native speakers in the long social practice. It is not only a gem of a language but also a crystallization of human wisdom. In English idioms there contains lots of colloquialisms, proverbs, slang, allusions, and phrasal verbs. And it has a close relationship with the history, the culture and the language speakers. As well, the essence of learning a language is to learn about the substantial and spiritual culture created by the people who use this language. Anyhow, as a foreign language in our country, most English learners are lack of the basic prerequisites of language acquisition. As a result, learning English idioms and finding out some cultural elements in them has become an effective way to improve their English in a short time.
