1st International Symposium and 4th Sino-Hungarian Workshop on Remediation and Restoration of Polluted Mining Areas ---- State-of-the-art and future trends Dear colleagues and friends, Mining and mineral processing smelting areas have been posing a considerable threat to surrounding environment and nearby drainage basins, due to its potential heavy metal contamination. The “1st International Symposium on Remediation and Restoration of Polluted Mining Areas” will be held in the city of Wuhan, central China, on May 22-24, 2015, which will give an overview of the state-of-the-art and future trends of prevention and control technologies of heavy metal pollution in the mining areas. The symposium is aimed to promote prevention and control targets of heavy metal pollution in the polluted mining areas, to establish and improve control system, Accident emergency system and environmental and health risk assessment systems of heavy metal pollution, to optimize relevant industrial structures and to propel new technologies and achievements of remediation and restoration forward into the field application. National and international well-known experts, scholars, and management representatives in the related fields of mining pollution prevention and environmental management will be invited to attend the symposium.
