This paper proposes a new medical image retrieval technique based on texture features. First, the texture features of images are extracted through preprocessing. Then, a classifier based on SVM is used to classify different medical images by their features. Finally, based on the classifiers results, the medical images can be retrieved quickly. This paper mainly includes: 1) the research background and significance of medical image retrieval techniques; 2) the preprocessing method of medical images and the texture feature extraction method; 3) the design of an SVM-based classifier and the analysis of its performance; 4) the implementation of fast medical image retrieval and analysis of experimental results; 5) summarizing research results and proposing further research directions. Through this study, we will provide doctors and medical workers with more effective and convenient medical image retrieval technology, which can improve the utilization efficiency and accuracy of medical images.
