Abstract
When racing a motorcycle a traction control system is extremely important to ensure you are maintaining
maximum power to the road, and not popping a wheelie, spinning out, or flipping the bike. So in preparation for the
construction of an electric motorcycle to race in the TTXGP the electric vehicle team put together a project to
design, test, and implement a traction control system. The system will be mounted on a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-
6R, and able to be tested in a stationary and controlled manner mounted on a rolling road. The traction control
system involves wheel speed sensors, an accelerometer, an mbed microcontroller, a MOSFET, and the test bench
setup among other electrical components for isolation and safety. Results on the correctness of the tractio
