Abstract: The effect of oxygenenriched combustion on engine performance was investigatedThe combustion
performance of the engine was obtained for an equivalence load with different oxygen concentrations of combustion
airFor oxygenenriched combustion air with 24% oxygen, the cylinder pressure increased about 15% , the
maximum pressure time was advanced, heat released rate increased, and the time of the heat released was
advanced tooThe emission of oxygenenriched combustion engine of different oxygen concentrations were also
measured with emission analyzer at idle conditionThe result indicates that, as the oxygen concentration of the
combustion air increases, the heat release rate of the same size engine increase; the engine size (displacement)
can decrease to achieve the same brake power; oxygen enriched combustion air will affect the combustion process
and the overall engine thermodynamics
