Methods The clinical data of 23 patients with local advanced esophageal squamous carcinoma treated in this hospital from May 2013 to April 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. The prescribed dose was 95% PTV 50/50. 4 Gy， to Gyime， 5 times/week. Results Analyzed the data of patients enrolled in the group， and the dosimetry parameters of organs at risk for thoracic radiotherapy were as follows： the median bilateral lung V20 was %（% to %）， V30 was % （% to %）. The median stomach V40 was % （% to %）. The median heart V30 was % （% to %） and V40 was and % （% to %） respectively. The median PFS was 30 months， and the OS in one year and three years were % and % respectively. Conclusion Postoperative prophylactic radiotherapy for thoracic local advanced esophageal cancer were safe and feasible.
