Research on Distribution Parameters Equivalent-Circuit Model of
Power Lithium-Ion Batteries

Abstract This paper proposes an approach of distribution parameters equivalent-circuit modeling
based on stacked LiMn O power battery and identifies the parameters of this model from the external

characteristic of battery. Voltage response of the cell under the condition of constant current charging,
constant current discharging and dynamic stress test (DST) is simulated by using the distribution
parameters equivalent-circuit model (DPECM). The results of the comparison between simulated and
experimental voltages indicate that the DPECM can simulate the characteristics of battery accurately.
DPECM can also simulate the potential and current distribution on electrode foils. The relationship
between nonuniformity in the cell and battery operating current and the changing rate of open circuit
voltage with state of charge is analyzed. It is an effective method to analyze the inner situation from
external characteristics of battery use DPECM.
