2006年 7月 四川外语学院学报 Ju ly, 2006 第 22卷 　第 4期 Journal of Sichuan International Studies Un iversity Vol. 22　No. 4 《先贤 》:丁尼生对老子的接受与想像 龙靖遥 　区　钅共 ( 中山大学 外 国语学院 , 广东 广州 　5 10 2 7 5 ) 提 　要 :丁尼生根据老子的生平和著作创作了长诗 《先贤 》。他把 《先贤 》当作自己后期最好的诗作之一 ,诗中 “先贤 ” 或先知指的是中国古代哲学家老子 。丁尼生对老子思想的接受和想像从诗中的四个方面 ,即 “老子弃城 ”、“道与悟 道 ”、“人生徒劳 ”以及 “出路 ”体现了出来 。影响丁尼生对老子的接受与想像的是西方的文化传统 ,如泛神论和末世 情结 ,此外 ,主导丁尼生对老子的接受和想像的是 “本土意识 ”。 关键词 :老子 ;先知 ;本土意识 ( ) 中图分类号 : I1099　　　文献标识码 :A 　　　文章编号 : 1003 - 3831 2006 04 - 0025 - 05 “The Anc ien t Sage ”: Tenny son ’s A cceptance and Env ision ing of L auTsze LON G J ing y ao　OU H ong Abstract: “The Ancient Sage ”, w ritten by A lfred Tennyson, is based on the life and work of L auTsze, the famou s ancient Ch inese ph ilo sopher. Tennyson him self regard s “The Ancient Sage ”, in which the ancient sage or the seer refers to L auTsze, as one of h is best later poem s. Tennyson ’s accep tance and envisioning of L auTsze, are shown in four asp ects in the poem , nam ely, “CityD eserting”, “Tao and its Comp rehen sion ”, “Futile L ife ”and “W ay Out ”. And the influence of h is accep t ance and envision ing of L auTsze isW estern cu ltural tradition, for examp le, Pantheism and Doom sday Comp lex. In addition, what dom inates Tennyson ’s accep tance and envisioning of L auTsze is “sen se of nativeness”.
