Abstract TheupperYangtzeregionbegantoexperienceinlargescaletransgressionandformingarelativelystablecarbonate
platforminPermianUnderstandingthesedimentaryfillingpatternandthetectoniccharacteristicoftheprototypebasinisthekeyto
revealtheformationmechanismoftheSichuanBasin,andmayalsohelptobetterunderstandevolutionprocessofthetypicalSichuan
multicycleandsuperimposedbasinOnthebasisofpredecessors’researchresults,wereconstructthetectonicandpalaeogeographic
frameworkoftheprototypebasinandanalyzethetectonicsedimentaryevolutionprocessduringLiangshanandQixiadepositionstagesby
comprehensivelymakinguseofboreholeandoutcropdataMainlycontrolledbytheancientlandformofhighinthecentralandlowin
theeastandwestfromLateCarboniferousandthelargescaletransgression,theLiangshanstagewascharacterizedbythetidalflatand
shorefacesedimentarysystem;andsubsequentlytransitionedtoanrelativelystablecarbonateplatformsedimentaryenvironmental
duringtheearlystageofQixiadeposition,influencedbyextendingaction,thesealevelrisesrelativelyandcharacterizedbyopen
platformsedimentaryenvironmental;andduringthelaterstageofQixiadeposition,thesealevelfallsrelativelyandcharacterizedby
restrictedplatform,platformmarginbeachsedimentaryenvironmentalThus,itrevealsthattheSichuanbasinanditsadjacentareas
mainlyinfluencedbyextendingactionandcouldberecognizedasatypicalintracratonicdepressionwithedgeriftbasinThecyclical
changeofthesealevelanddifferentialsettlementofthebasinplayanimportantroleintheevolutionofthes
