Theinaugu「al2003editionofNFPA5000®,BuildingConstructionandSafety
Code®,wasissuedin2002andwas(andstillis)thefirstmodelbuildingcode
developedusingthefullopenconsensus-basedproceduresaccreditedbythe
AmericanNationalStandardsInstitute.Thefi「steditionmarkedthe
culminationofNFPA’smorethan100yearsofexperienceindeveloping
volunta「yconsensus-basedcodesandstanda「ds「elatedtothebuilt
envi「onment.FromtheLifeSafetyCode®totheFireCodetotheNational
