1.Warm-up

Startthelessonbyaskingthestudentsabouttheirfutureplans.Encouragethemtosharetheirdreamsandaspirations.Writetheiranswersontheboardandusethemforreferenceduringthelesson.

2.Vocabulary

Introducenewvocabularyrelatedtodifferentprofessions.Writethewordsontheboardandaskthestudentstorepeatafteryou.Makesuretheyunderstandthemeaningofeachword.Youcanalsoprovidedefinitionsorexamplesentencestohelpthemunderstandbetter.Thevocabularywordsinclude:scientist,engineer,doctor,lawyer,teacher,musician,artist,chef,writer,architect,athlete.

Explainthedifferencebetweenbegoingtoandwillforfutureplans.Startwithbegoingtoandexplainthatweuseitwhenwehavealreadydecidedorplannedtodosomethinginthenearfuture.Provideexamples,suchasIamgoingtostudycomputerscience.Next,explainthatwillisusedwhenwemakedecisionsatthemomentofspeakingorwhenwearepredictingthefuture.Giveexamples,suchasIwillbecomeadoctor.

4.Practice:Conversationactivity

Dividethestudentsintopairsandaskthemtoimaginetheirfutureplans.StudentAwilltaketheroleofaskingaboutthefutureplans,usingWhatareyougoingtodo?StudentBwillrespondwiththeirownplansusingImgoingto...andIwill....Encouragethemtousethevocabularywordsandtimeexpressions,suchasintwoyears,afterIfinishschool,etc.Allowthestudentstopracticetheconversationandprovidefeedbackontheirpronunciationandlanguageusage.
