Abstract: A novel iber corrosion sensor based on distributed Brillouin opt ical time domain re lection
( BOT DR) has been developed, which can monitor st eel corrosion in concrete structures. T he choosing
method o valid sampling points on opt ical iber w as proposed, and urt hermore, the evaluation ormula
w as derived to make quantitat ive assessment o steel corrosion. T he properties o BOTDR iber corrosion
sensors embedded in concrete structures w ere researched in t he electrochemical corrosion accelerating
testing system , and the degree o steel corrosion was gained through the evaluat ion ormula and data col
lected by the BOTDR analyzer. T he test results show that BOTDR iber corrosion sensors can monitor
steel corrosion in early st age e ect ively, and can
