Abstract :Nanosized ! -chitin was prepared by acidoiysis of sguid pen in microemuision using uitrasonic
method at 60 C . The microemuision was composed of poiyoxyethyiene ether ,octane and water. The
resuits indicated that the appropriate acid concentration is 1. 2 ~ 2. 2 moi/ L. The sampies were
characterized by means of XRD and IR. TEM anaiysis indicated that the acid concentration affects
significantiy the shape and granuiarity of the particies. Thermai anaiysis resuits of ! -chitin nanoparticies
