Title:ResearchandDesignofMEMSCapacitiveAccelerometerContinuousClosed-LoopReadoutCircuit

Introduction:

Accelerometersareoneofthemostimportantsensorsusedinvariousfieldssuchasaerospace,automotive,biomedicalandstructuralengineering.MEMScapacitiveaccelerometershavegainedsignificantattentionduetotheirsmallsize,lowcost,andhighaccuracy.However,toachievehigh-performancemeasurements,ahigh-performanceclosed-loopreadoutcircuitisrequired.Therefore,thisprojectaimstoresearchanddesignaMEMScapacitiveaccelerometercontinuousclosed-loopreadoutcircuit.

Objectives:

Themainobjectivesofthisprojectare:

1.TostudytheworkingprincipleofMEMScapacitiveaccelerometersandtheircontinuousclosed-loopreadoutcircuit.

2.Toevaluatetheperformanceofdifferentreadoutcircuittopologiesandchoosethebest-suitedtopology.

3.TodesignandsimulatethechosentopologyusingsoftwaretoolssuchasCadenceVirtuosoandMATLAB.

4.ToimplementandtestthedesignedcircuitonaPCBandvalidateitsperformancethroughexperimentalmeasurements.

Methodology:

Theprojectwillbecarriedoutinthefollowingphases:

1.Literaturereview:AcomprehensivereviewofpublishedresearchandacademicliteraturerelatedtoMEMScapacitiveaccelerometers,theirworkingprinciple,andcontinuousclosed-loopreadoutcircuitswillbeconducted.Thiswillprovideabetterunderstandingoftheresearchproblemandpossiblesolutions.

2.Topologyselection:Differentreadoutcircuittopologieswillbeinvestigated,andtheirperformancewillbeevaluatedbasedonfactorssuchasnoise,linearity,bandwidth,andpowerconsumption.Thebest-suitedtopologywillbeselected.

3.Circuitdesign:ThechosentopologywillbedesignedandsimulatedusingsoftwaretoolssuchasCadenceVirtuosoandMATLAB.

4.PCBimplementation:Thedesignedcircuitwillbeimplementedonaprintedcircuitboard(PCB)andt
