NumericalSimulationofAirInjectionafterSteamHuffandPuffinHeavyOilReservoirs

BackgroundandSignificance:

Heavyoilreservoirshaveattractedincreasingattentionduetotheirenormousreservesandpotentialforexploitation.However,theprimaryrecoveryrateofheavyoilisverylowduetoitshighviscosityandlowmobility,soenhancedoilrecovery(EOR)techniquesarenecessarytoincreasetherecoveryrate.SteaminjectionisoneofthemostwidelyusedEORmethodsforheavyoilreservoirs.However,aftersteamhuffandpuff,asignificantamountofoilisstillleftinthereservoir.Therefore,airinjectionaftersteamhuffandpuffhasbecomeapromisingEORmethodforheavyoilreservoirs.However,furtherresearchisrequiredtooptimizethistechnologyandimproveitsefficiency.

Objectives:

Thisstudyaimstonumericallysimulatetheairinjectionaftersteamhuffandpuffinheavyoilreservoirsandinvestigatetheinfluenceofdifferentoperationalparametersonoilrecoveryefficiency.Thespecificobjectivesare:

1.Toestablishanumericalmodelofairinjectionaftersteamhuffandpuffinheavyoilreservoirs.

2.Toconductasensitivityanalysisofoperationalparameters,includingairinjectionrate,injectiontemperature,andinjectionpressure,onoilrecoveryefficiency.

3.Toinvestigatethemechanismsofoilrecoveryduringairinjectionaftersteamhuffandpuffinheavyoilreservoirs.

Methodology:

ThenumericalsimulationwillbeconductedusingCMGSTARSsoftware,whichiswidelyusedinthepetroleumindustryforreservoirsimulation.Themodelwillbecalibratedbasedonthereservoirdata,includinggeologicalcharacteristics,petrophysicalproperties,andfluidproperties.Afterthenumericalmodelisestablished,asensitivityanalysisofoperationalparameterswillbeconductedtoinvestigatetheirinfluenceonoilrecoveryefficiency.Finally,themechanismsofoilrecoveryduringair
