QOL assessment is suggested for use as an outcome measure in the treatment of cancer in addition to traditional endpoints such as cure rate and sur - vival time. In this review ， we summarize the measurement and the clinical application of QOL in cancer patients. The assess - ment of QOL contributes to choosing the most suitable strategy in tumor treatment ， so QOL assessment should become one of the routine observations of clinical practice.
