China - Broadband Market - Overview Statistics
1. SYNOPSIS
Going into 2010, China’s broadband subscriber population had passed the 100 million milestone. In
2004 China passed Japan to become the world’s second biggest broadband market, and then passed the
US in 2008 to become the largest broadband market in the world. Despite this huge subscriber base,
penetration remains comparatively low, meaning there is still much room for growth. China is the top

report looks at the nature of the market, the key players and broadband services, such as cable modem
access, DSL, FttH and wireless access, accompanied by relevant statistics and analysis. Broadband
forecasts to 2015 are also included as well as FttX forecasts to 2012.
