Methods ： Using colorimetric method of MTT and flow cytometry to detect the impact of progesterone on proliferation and apoptosis of DSCs in vitro. Results ：20~80 μmol/L progesterone inhibited the proliferation of DSCs （P 0.05）with morphological changes of DSCs. 10~80 μmol/L progesterone enhanced the total rate of apoptosis of DSCs（P0.05），but 6%. Conclusion ：Progesterone can inhibit the proliferation of DSCs. The rate of inhibition of 48 h and the concentration is positively correlated. Progesterone can enhace the apoptosis of DSCs .
