This essay analyzes Chinese localizers of ”li , zhong , nei , wai ”structure and t heir expres sional forms and metap horical meanings t hat are proj ected onto five target domains , namely , time ,area ,quantity , state and sta tus relation . Also t he essay intends to explore t he cognitive p atterns behind t he preferences of different sp atial relationship .
