A boy named Xiaoming has a wonderful dream. His dream is to have a large vocabulary of 5.000 words. His dream will come true if he has a magic ability. Try to guess what the ability is? The powerful ability is to guess the meanings. self-access 自主学习 Give students their task of this part and their time. 1) Try to guess the meanings of the underlind words; 2) Try to summarize the skills about guessing the meanings. 3. Sharing 交流研讨 Group discussion Individual discussion Tell them what they are expected to do in this part. 1) Talk about the meanings of the underlined words and how you get it; 2) Summarize and share your skills. 4. Teacher’s response 精讲 不讲: There are 26 underlined words in all. And most of them can be correctly guessed. So most of these meanings will not be talked about. 猜测词义题的提问方式 略讲： 1)Some of the meanings, such as territory, eccentric, hassele, microwave, commercialized.
