* ePO Server Hardware Requirements by Node Count. Although a server may meet the minimum server requirements for installation, it is worth bearing in mind they are minimum requirements. In real-world terms, a company will frequently want a more powerful machine for the ePO server, especially in an enterprise environment. Whilst an existing server may be utilized for smaller installations, if managing more than 250 client computers, we strongly recommend using a dedicated server. Decreasing the frequency of the agent communication interval can allow a machine with a lower than recommended specification to manage a large numbers of nodes. The specifications above would allow complete flexibility for the configuration of ePO, whereas lower specifications may limit your ability to react quickly in terms of policy management and enforcement. See the Performance and Availability module for further details. * Database Hardware Recommendations. Again, though the minimal requirements are sufficient, the above recommendations outline the specifications for optimal performance. If using SQL Server on the same system as the ePolicy Orchestrator server, it is recommended that approximately two-thirds of the total memory is set as the fixed memory size for SQL Server. For example, if the computer has 2GB of RAM, set 1320MB as the fixed memory size for SQL Server. * ePO Server Database Space Recommendations Basic database installation includes the installation of the ePO database, and accompanying databases, (e.g. master, model and tempdb) VirusScan with basic detection and default alerting. This figure includes client property information and alerting information from virus detection events. VirusScan with advanced detection and default alerting. This figure includes client property information and alerting information from virus, buffer overflow, and potentially unwanted program detection events. * * Running Setup.exe If installing the software from CD, select the desir
