TEST PROGRAM ONBOARD OF ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM
General
Attendants
The test shall be conducted in compliance with the program and witnessed by presented of the surveyor of classification society and the owner’s representative, unless otherwise mentioned.
Testing condition
During testing, all the electric equipment shall be kept its service condition as near as practicable, and gauges fixed on the instrument board of equipment shall generally be used for checking and taking a record. Each test shall be carried out when the vessel is moored alongside the builder’s wharf, unless otherwise mentioned.
TEST PROGRAM
Electric Power System
Main diesel generators and Emergency generator
General
During test on board, in principle water resistance shall be used as test load (PF=1.0) except at sea trial or otherwise noted.
Insulation resistance test
Before and after the generator heat running test, insulation resistance between the following points shall be measured by use of a DC 500V Megger and it shall be confirmed that the resistance is 1 mega-ohm or above:
-Winding – ship’s hull
-Space heater – ship’s hull
The results of above test are recorded in attached sheets E-1, 2, 3, 4 on pages 15, 16, 17, 18.
Heat run test (Continuous load test)
Increase generator load gradually from zero to full and then run the generator continuously for 60 minutes under full load condition, 15 minutes under 110% full load at last.
Measure the following parameters and record the data during this test.
Output (kW), Frequency (Hz), Voltage (V), Current (A),
Temperature (℃) of Air, Frame, Stator, Bearing and Engine room.
It shall be confirmed that the generator is free from an abnormal rise of temperature at each part.
The temperature shall be measured by using of thermometer method.
The measurement points and results of measurement are recorded in attached sheets E-5, 6, 7, 8, on pages 19, 20, 21, 22.
Voltage characteristic test (Load characteristic test)
At a full rated load, the voltage and f
