* Slide Objective: To allow the participants to ask questions. Instructor Notes: Now, are there any questions that you have? I will try to answer as best we can. * * * Slide Objective: To describe the process of profile creation when using Autodiscover. Instructor Notes: Let’s go through each step in this process, to ensure you understand it, as this is important. Please do ask questions 1) The client initiates the Autodiscover process by sending a request to one or more Client Access servers. The client uses the SMTP address of the user and DNS to discover the appropriate Client Access server. The Autodiscover service on the client sends each Client Access server an HTTP Post command that contains an Extensible Markup Language (XML) request for specific information. The XML request may contain information about the user’s e-mail account configuration, such as the user’s e-mail address, protocols that are supported by the client software and Web browser, proxy types, and authentication methods. 2) The appropriate Client Access server responds by returning an XML file that contains information about how to configure local software on the client. The Client Access server uses configuration information from the Active Directory service to build the configuration template for Office Outlook. 3) Office Outlook downloads the required configuration information from the Autodiscover service. Office Outlook then uses the configuration settings to connect to an Exchange server. * * * Slide Objective: To explain the requirements for using the Autodiscover service in the context of a cross-forest move. Instructor Notes: If you a perform a cross-forest move, for Autodiscover to work, your infrastructure will need: If your Exchange deployment has two or more trusted forests, you must update the?Active?Directory?directory service?so that users who are running Microsoft?Office?Outlook?2007 in one forest can access the Client Access servers in the remote (or target) forest
