Studies have showed that NF-κB pathway plays important roles in the regulation of cellular senescence, which has great significance for the understanding of the occurrence of aging. This review focuses on the recent advances on the role of the NF-κB pathway in cellular senescence. The main contents of this review include the followings: molecular mechanisms of the NF-κB pathway, NF-κB pathway and cellular senescence, caloric restriction and NF-κB pathway, the relationship between NF-κB pathway and other aging-related pathways, and NF-κB pathway in age-associated diseases.
