The comprehensive water cut was 93.7%. The difference of oil layers, long injec- tor-producer space and long production intervals induced poor producing degree of effective re- servoirs and low producing degree of thin and bottom oil layers. In order to improve the produc- ing degree and developmental effect of the reservoir, and find out a suitable well pattern for re- servoirs at late developmental stage with high water cut, the microscopic formation mechanism of remaining oil was studied, and the reservoirs were quantitatively evaluated by using pyrolysis of rocks from the sidewall coring, gas chromatography of saturated hydrocarbon and fluorescence microscopic image analysis, and the remaining oil distribution status and rules in Gaotaizi Reser- voir of Sazhong Development Zone were summarized. The method for evaluating remaining oil in adjustment wells with logging technology is formed by improving the fine evaluation of water flooding degree in thick layers and thin-poor layers.
