Abstract The traditional family network interconnection mainly used SAMBA or NFS protocols; users in the server and client need to be complex network configuration, the average home user can not be competent. UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) as a smart home networking standard that can make all kinds of intelligent devices seamlessly connect to simplify home network can be achieved. By analyzing the UPnP protocol stack and work process, put forward in Next-generation Versatile Disc player for HDTV platform, intelligent home network media player to achieve the programme, the combination of Intels UPnP SDK development kits to realize the intelligent family media broadcast network, has completed the automatic linked network and gains a IP address, announced outward own media broadcast ability, searched in the network automatically the media server, and when the media server left the network made intelligent processing the function. NVD player as smart media player to handle both the addition of Intelligent Network, was informed of the change in network users have to deal with the various commands such as play, pause, visit the directory. In achieving the main use of the survival and management, control point type, and user operation and management category three nodes. Management of life time node-processing equipment overtime expired, the response did not state a long time.
