Abs tract: The expermi entalmodel of lmi iting d isplacement of base isolation soft-collision and three k inds of steel
spiral spring buffers are designed and made. The testing mechanical characteristics of a buffer are given. N ine
kinds ofmodel tests on a shak ing table have been performed. The expermi ent data are analyzed, and the influence
of soft-collision buffer. s parameters on structural response is clarified. A t last the optmi ized soft-collision test work
caseswh ich are suitable for this isolated expermi entalmodel are obtained.
