T he principle and the virtues of the rapid prototyping w ere presented. Several typical rapid prototyping processing such as StereoLithography , Laminated object manufacturing, Selective Laser Sintering and Fused Deposition Modeling as w ell several new rapid prototyping processing such as Selective Electro- form, Ice Prototype Forming, Direct Light Forming, T hree-dimensional W eld Forming that e- merged of late w ere listed. Rapid prototyping has found broad application in mould industry and repair medical science. Enterprise and society w ill gain enormous economic benefits from the de- velopment of rapid prototyping.
