School of Public Policy and Management， Xi’an Jiaotong University， Xi’an 710049， China） 　　Abstract：Using the data from the survey “Wellbeing of Elderly in Anhui Province”， this study investigated the structure of intergenerational relationship of rural Chinese families. Latent class analysis revealed five types of intergenerational relations： tightknit， nearby but discordant， intimate but distant， detached， and ambivalent. The relationship types were also differentiated by the characteristics of individuals and families； relations with mothers tended to have the stronger cohesion， however， with older ones to be more ambivalent. And relationships with adult daughters tended to be stronger cohesion. Although more sons and daughters could weaken the ambivalent relationships， more sons are more likely to cause the detached relationships. 　　Keywords：intergenerational relations； gender； the rural elderly； latent class analysis 　　一、研究背景 　　近30年?碓谡?策干预和老龄化双重影响下，中国家庭面临着剧烈的结构变迁；加之人口迁移流动带来的家庭成员的地域分割，家庭成员在生命周期各个阶段可利用的家庭资源正在减少。西方现代化理论认为随着家庭核心化、小型化及个人主义盛行，家庭已无法保障其成员的福利。这一“家庭衰落”假设用于解释成年期代际关系表现为老年父母与其成年子女分开居住，家庭功能缩小到只具有生育和抚育的核心功能，而丧失了满足其老年成员需求的功能[1]。但也有研究者认为代际关系仍然存在，只不过各代邻近居住（非同住）形成改进式扩展家庭（modified extended families）
