LTD., Wuhu Anhui 24 1006,China) Abstract: Olivine LiFePO4 has the potential to be a new kind of cathode material for lithium- ion battery due to its abundant resources, non- toxicity,environmental benign, high theoretical capacity, good thermal stability and excellent cycling performance. The research progress in new cathode material LiFePO4 for lithium- ion batteries was reviewed. The structure, the methods of synthesis and the modification research were expatiated in particular.
