English Letters 英语信函,无论是商业还是私人,在形式上也有一些具体的要求。通常说来,一封完整的英文信应由以下几个部分组成: 信头:收信人和写信人的地址(彼此熟悉时,此项可省略)以及写信的日期 称呼:往往是Dear+收信人的称谓 信体:信的主要内容,依写作目的长短不定 结尾:客套问候和签名 附文:此项依具体情况可有可无,往往由P.S.引导出 Points for Attention If you send an email letter, list your contact information in your signature. In job-hunting, writing a thank-you letter or email, after an employment interview is a must. Plan to send out your thank-you letters as soon as possible (preferably within 24 hours) after your interview. It is best to keep your audience in mind. Address their issues and concerns. In general, typed (paper or email) thank-you letters are recommended. If the interview is informal and you achieve an immediate rapport 关系和睦,意见一致with your interviewer, a hand-written note is fine. Send a message that you are both considerate and professional to reinforcing the positive impression you left upon the reader’s mind. Sample 1: General Thank-you Letter Congratulation Letters Attention: We must take care a congratulation letter does not sound either patronizing(说话高人一等的,屈尊俯就的) or bitter. Aim to write a plain, straightforward letter that cannot be misinterpreted. How to write effective congratulation letters Write the congratulation letter as soon as possible after the fortunate event takes place. State in the beginning the specific occasion起因/缘由 that has motivated you to write a congratulation letter. Express praise and approval of the readers accomplishment in your congratulation letter. Keep your congratulation letter simple and concise—under one page in length. Keep your letter positive and dont include any negative comments or unhappy news. Dont suggest that the fortunate event should benefit the letter-writer in any way. Dont exaggerate your congratulatory words or your letter may seem sarcastic or mocking.
