He was born in 1859, In 1887 ,he wrote his first detective story. Its hero is Sherlock Holmes, a great detective. People loved the story and its hero very much. In 1891, Conan Doyle began to write more stories about Sherlock Holmes. From then on, each week there was a Holmes story in a magazine. In 1892, Conan Doyle became bored with detective stories. He decided to stop writing. So in one of the stories Holmes died. Many fans were surprised to learn that. They did not want their hero to die. They asked Conan Doyle to write another Holmes story. So he wrote the story “the Hound of the Baskervilles”. It is the most famous Sherlock Holmes story. Then Conan Doyle went on writing stories and novels. He died in 1930. Today Sherlock Holmes is still the most famous detective in the world.
