GCT英语核心词汇解析 01． abandon: 基本含义及其用法： （1） ~ sb：放弃，抛弃不顾义务，忠诚或责任而不予支持或帮助；遗弃： Never abandon our friend in trouble. 永远不要置朋友于危难之中而不顾。 (2) ~ sth：离弃，丢弃，通过离开、停止操作或不再居住而放弃，特别是危险或迫近的威胁所导致 的结果： The captain made the tough decision that they abandon the ship. 船长做出艰难的决定：弃船。- (3) abandon doing 放弃做某事： He abandoned smoking.
