By b inding to the specific neuronal receptors at neuromuscular junctions( NM J), the BoNT inh ibits the release of neurotransm itters, causes flaccid paralysis and even death of the organ ism s. It is listed as one of them ost dangerous bioterrorism agents. There are great sen- ses to illustrate the m echan ism s of action of BoNT in order to obtain the therapeu tic neutralizing antibody. In th is article, the advances in the research on them echanism s of action of BoNT are reviewed.
