Abstract:From theperspectiveofoptimizingproductandimprovingcompetitiveness,thispaperpointsoutsomedefectsofthe
conllnonvehic1eGPSmonitoringterminals,suchaslowintegrationofhardwaremodules,highcost,largesize,andlowreliabili—
tv.Thesedefectsleadtohihg costinmaintenanceandlowcustomersatisfaction.Anovelsolutionisproposedinthispaperto
solvetheseDroblems.OursdutionadoptsanARM7 coreSTR750FV2T6ashtehostcontroller,nadusesGPS/GPRSmodule
SIM508asthetransceivertolocateandcommunicate.ThissolutionreducesthecostandsizeofcommonvehicleGPStemr i—
nalswithahihgDerformance.Theexperimentresultshowsthatoursolutionfunctionswellinpracticaluseandcanbereferred
inthefurtherreserachonvehiclesafetymonitoringtechnology.

1 Introduction
Generalpacketradioservice(GPRS)basedonGSMsystemprovidesend—to—end,wideareaandwirelessIP
